We are seeking to hire a Regulatory Research Analyst to be based in our Bethesda, MD. If you have 2+ years of regulatory and/or legal experience , strong writing skills and are fluent in Japanese and English , then we want to talk with you! Position Overview:

Responsibilities consist of legal research and regulatory analysis of environmental, health and safety (EH&S), chemical control (e.g. Kashin-hou law, ISHL, PRTR, etc.), cosmetics, food, occupational safety, and pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and standards of Japan . Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Research and analyze the relevant laws, regulations, and standards of Japan to be incorporated to 3E’s product lines and to support consulting services
• Write news and overviews of all the relevant laws, regulations (proposed and final), bills, and standards.
• Validate Japanese regulatory data provided by 3E’s partner in comparing with original regulatory sources.
• Provide customers with regulatory analysis and compliance requirements of Japanese rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• B.A / B.S. in Environmental Science, Political Science or International Affairs (Master’s degree or J.D. highly preferred)
• 2-5 years of regulatory/ legal experience (preferably in EH&S industry)
• Excellent comprehension in reading Japanese documents (in addition to English) is a must.
• Excellent analytical, research and writing skills required.
• Excellent organizational skills required.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills required.
• Excellent data interpretation skills– ability to translate regulatory requirements into data format – required.
• Excellent conceptual skills – ability to present complex ideas into a simple and clear manner – required.
• Legal/ legislative or chemical background highly preferred.
• Experience working both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams
• Able to work independently with a high degree of efficiency with little supervisory oversight.
• Able to identify issue/ problem and provide answer/ solution (problem-solving thinking required).
