If so, an exciting Cloud Engineer – Google Cloud Platform opportunity is available in the newly formed Multi – Cloud Enablement team! We are looking for a Cloud Engineer – Google Cloud Platform who is motivated and ready to implement Vanguard’s Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.

In this role, you will be a member of a cross functional team working with cutting-edge cloud native technologies to engineer & build, highly scalable, resilient & secure solutions for our clients.

In this role you will:

• Contribute to the design and deployment of enterprise-wide scalable, highly available, secure, and reliable platforms and architecture on GCP full-stack
• Provide Google Cloud Platform engineer services to plan, analyze, design, build, test, and deploy enterprise technology infrastructures and services in the Google Cloud Platform Public Cloud as per project specifications and needs
• Collaborate across different areas within business and technology to create a clear and cohesive vision to drive future state Google Cloud Platform
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and technologies, recommending timely adjustments to strategies as appropriate
• Contribute to the development of the Multi Cloud Strategy by using knowledge of current state and a future vision of public and private cloud technologies as benefits the needs of Vanguard
• Assist with the development of and management of GCP Engineer governance process and contributes to governance decisions around Multi cloud management

What it takes:

• Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
• Hands-on design and development background in GCP, across a wide range of GCP services
• Experience in establishing GCP foundational environments (Landing Zones) including network, security, HA/DR, and operational support for production environments
• Experience in implementing applications onto cloud platforms and usage of their major components in order to define cloud native application Engineer such as Microservices, Service Mesh or Data Streaming applications
• Hands on Infrastructure-as-Code technologies: Terraform, Ansible & knowledge of DevOps.
• Experience of Engineer Google Data and Integration solutions (DataProc, DataFusion, DataFlow, Pub/Sub)
• Ability to migrate client workloads into GCP from other clouds (public or private) as well as traditional on-prem solutions, analyze systems and identify potential migration problems.
• Working knowledge of Public Cloud Providers platforms and services as well as complex multi-technology solutions with hybrid architectures (cloud and on-prem).
• Experience with IT support services and related infrastructure solutions, capabilities, and technologies with some or all the following is a plus:
  • Distributed Computing Hardware Technologies
  • Network Technologies – SDN, Ethernet Fabrics, Firewalls, Load Balancers, WAN, WiFi, etc.
  • Directory Services – Active Directory/LDAP
  • SAN Storage Solutions
  • Virtual Desktops Solutions (VDI)
• Issue tracking, project management, and requirements tracking systems, i.e., ServiceNow and Jira
