Job Description
Akuna Capital is an innovative trading firm with a strong focus on collaboration, cutting-edge technology, data driven solutions and automation. We specialise in providing liquidity as an options market maker – meaning we are committed to providing competitive quotes that we are willing to both buy and sell. To do this successfully we design and implement our own low latency technologies, trading strategies and mathematical models.
At Akuna, we believe that the people are the centre of everything we do. Our Sydney office has a start-up feel with less than 250 people, which means you really get to know the team! We are expanding rapidly and looking for the best talent to join us on this journey. If you enjoy being part of smart, driven teams with real challenges to solve- this could be the place for you!
About the role:
Akuna is seeking a highly organized, enthusiastic & driven Recruiter to take ownership of our experienced, junior, and intern recruitment initiatives across the quantitative department. You will hire top quant talent into the firm while also building & maintaining strong relationships with key internal stakeholders. You will be given the opportunity to grow and improve our campus program, as well as develop new experienced hire sourcing methods. With our high growth rate and no signs of slowing down, be prepared to take on a unique challenge with significant opportunity for vertical & horizontal career growth!
What you’ll do:
- Prepare and execute local hiring plans for annual campus & experienced recruitment initiatives.
- Own end-to-end recruitment process including global attraction strategies, recruitment campaigns & university relations/program management.
- Track large volumes of candidates through multiple stages of the interview process including candidate screening, testing, scheduling, and communication using Outlook and our applicant tracking system

- Coordinate campus career fairs and promotional materials with other recruitment staff
- Travel and represent Team Akuna at events and career fairs as needed
- Work with Recruitment Team to identify goals for campus events and make data driven decisions

What you’ll bring:
- Previous recruiting experience hiring various levels of experience in a vertical such as mathematics, trading, technology, quantitative, actuarial, or similar
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office products and applicant tracking systems (Greenhouse.io is a bonus!)
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to deal with changing requirements from multiple stakeholders
- Friendly and patient demeanor when dealing with candidates and representing Akuna at career fairs & events.
- Outstanding organisational skills, close attention to detail and the ability to multi-task with changing priorities
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a high-performing team
- Desire to win and recruit the best talent into Akuna!
What you’ll get:
- An attractive base salary, generous bonus structure and plenty of career mobility opportunities
- We know everybody works at their best differently, that’s why we have adopted a hybrid working model, which allows most roles work from home flexibility. We will even provide you with the tech to get started!
- Catch up over a coffee made to order by our in-house barista and grab a bite to eat in our stocked kitchen
- We host poker nights, happy hours, team outings and sponsor a variety of employee-led clubs and sports teams and offer volunteer opportunities to all employees.
- We are proud to offer firm-wide classes through our Akuna U program, access to webinars, digital books, and case studies
- Opportunities to attend conferences, and tuition reimbursements to make sure you keep learning!
- Leave starting at 20 days per year that increases based on tenure with the firm
