About the role:

The role will work with our Network Engineering team in APAC to help support Akuna’s offices, data centers and trading co-locations. The successful candidate will help support BAU operations and lead their own projects to drive improvements for the firm. What you’ll do:

• Ensure all elements of Akuna’s network is performant and operating at a satisfactory level.
• Ensure networks and systems are monitored and well documented.
• Automation of regular daily tasks.
• Assist with resolution of tickets and support requests.
• Leading your own technical projects.
• Assisting with the implementation of technical changes during scheduled change windows.
• Working with external vendors and carriers to support Akuna’s networks and systems.
• Assist with physical cabling work in our offices and data centers as/when required.
• Participate in out of hours support as/when required.

What you’ll bring:

• A positive and inquisitive attitude to solving complex technical problems.
• A good understanding of the TCP/IP and the OSI stack.
• A good understanding of unicast routing (BGP and OSPF) and forwarding (VLANs, spanning-tree, etc).
• Experience working with firewalls.

It's a bonus if you have:

• CCNA certification (with a desire to get a CCNP).
• An understanding of Linux operating systems.
• Experience with packet capture and analysis.
• Scripting experience with Python, Ansible and/or Terraform.
• Experience working in a multi-vendor environment (Cisco, Arista, Juniper).
• An understanding of multicast routing (IGMP and PIM).
