Why this position matters:

The Manufacturing Technician performs a wide range of duties that are vital to the success of Silicon Labs’ Austin Test Center. This position requires a varied skill set including equipment troubleshooting, Admin/software expertise, and excellent written and verbal communication. You will be responsible for solving complex technical issues, meeting production and shipping deadlines as well as interfacing with engineering support groups and vendors.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Follow sometimes complex written and verbal instructions in completing all assignments
• Record/transact production, yield and inventory information using SAP, Jira, Opsnet, Teams, Confluence, Excel, Word, and other software
• Perform IC kit building tasks including the ordering of components and expendable supplies
• Set up and operate a variety of automated IC test equipment and handlers
• Perform equipment maintenance and calibration tasks on a variety of test equipment and handlers
• Recognize production, equipment and quality problems and troubleshoot the issue
• Interface with Test Engineering and Equipment Engineering as part of testing and troubleshooting activities
• Take notes and document issues as a reference for future problem solving
• Contribute to the development of concepts and techniques
• Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions
• Solve problems in a sometimes ambiguous work environment where documentation is minimal for new products and new processes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
• Handle and contain exposure to chemicals including but not limited to LN2

Skills you will need to be successful:

• 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry with a focus on testing and logistics
• AAS degree in a technical field is helpful but not required
• Familiarity with SAP, Jira, Confluence and Microsoft Office Apps
• Equipment troubleshooting skills
• Strong skills in prioritization and collaboration, with the ability to manage multiple tasks with different teams
