About the role:

As the leader for service and support of the Syapse product portfolio, you’ll cover many crucial elements including technical operations and customer support. You will inspire and lead a team of engineers and analysts creating a first class customer experience, utilization and service performance across our product portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team of mission first people. What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Responsible for the performance, availability, security and scalability of the Syapse’s application platform.
  • Administer and manage Syapseʼs application platform.
  • Deploy service releases
  • Facilitate the data orchestration within the defined cadence.
  • Perform on-going configuration tuning, software upgrades and patch updates to the Syapseʼs application platform.
  • Design, develop and implement automation to monitor application platform, performance baseline and event correlation.
  • Implement security facilities controls, both by configuring AWS services and integrating with third parties.
  • Support software development team to develop new features and enhancements for the platform and partner with Quality assurance team to test features.
  • Accountable for configuration management systems like Jenkins and continuous integration and deployment frameworks.
  • Provide a quality customer onboard experience to drive the adoption of the Syapse Learning Health Network.
  • Perform on-call duties and support any customer escalations.
  • Partner with Product management to provide feedback on customer usage and experience to improve product capabilities.
  • Must have good communication skills.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Strong scripting skills in Python (preferred), or other scripting languages (Bash, Perl, etc.).Rock solid Linux skills.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (Google Compute, Azure or AWS (preferred) is a must).
  • Experience with Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Salt (preferred) is a must.
  • Experience with cloud orchestration tooling such as CloudFormation and Terraform (preferred)
  • Experience with the tools and techniques of security assurance.
  • Understanding of web application performance tuning (all layers) and high availability architectures.
  • Basic DBA skills (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL). Exposure to administering NoSQL systems is a plus. Build automation experience is a plus.
  • Strong experience in Infrastructure Monitoring, Application Performance Monitoring using tools.
  • Log aggregation experience using Splunk/Logstash/Elasticsearch
  • Understanding of micro services architecture/containers using Docker, Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Experience with in memory cache solutions like Redis is good to have.
  • Automation experience using shell scripting and configuration management

Syapse is a Remote-First company. What does that mean? Simply, we hire team members anywhere regulations allow and assume everyone will work from home full time. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Syapse hires need to be located and perform their job in the United States. Some folks travel, some may eventually gather in person in areas where we have a critical mass of employees, and of course we’re excited to get together as departments and as a whole company throughout the year in person. But you, and the rest of Team Syapse, will mostly work from home.
