Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

You will assume primary responsibility for developing and supporting the derivative revaluation infrastructure. All responsibilities carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Guiding Principles ensuring adherence to Privacy principles.

What will you do?

  • Provide an effective link between Product Control, Front Office, Global Market Risk and IT Functions
  • Ensure front-to-back accuracy & consistency of captured market parameters with the banks revaluation systems.
  • Bring specialist product and IT knowledge, with the aim of delivering a correct, consistent & timely revaluation infrastructure that is fit for purpose in all functional areas
  • Work to improve valuation consistency across broader suite of RBC revaluation engines
  • Ensure that the Product Control team and other stakeholders are immediately aware of revaluation issues that may affect downstream activity
  • Being proactive in identifying process and control deficiencies
  • Willing to challenge the status quo and able to contribute to re-engineering projects
  • Assisting with streamlining existing processes
  • To ensure PC remains and is seen as an independent control function
  • To work with the Product Control (SPBS) team supporting the Equity Derivatives and Structured Rates production activities
  • To work with Product Control team supporting IPV and VA calculation for Linear and non Linear Rates The product scope includes but is not limited to:
    • Single & Cross Currency Interest Rate Swaps
    • Bonds/Repos
    • Exchange Traded Future and Future Options
    • FX Spot, Forward & NDF

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Experience of working in a Product Control / Valuations / Middle Office / Market Risk environment
  • Strong IR market, product, curve build and revaluation methodology knowledge base
  • Excellent communication skills especially with Front Office
  • Excellent numerical skills with the ability to solve problems in a logical manner
  • Accuracy and meticulousness
  • Strong teamwork skills
