Over the last few years, Bosch has established the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI) as one of the leading enterprise research centers for AI. The Data Science and Software Engineering team is one part of the BCAI with the mission to incubate, engineer and roll out AI solutions to Bosch. We work closely with domain experts on real-world applications to transform Bosch into a data-driven company.

• You will translate business needs into technical solutions and develop advanced machine learning models for the analysis of large-scale and high-dimensional data. You will be exposed to the massive data and diverse application scenarios of Bosch's various business units, and use machine learnig technology to actively explore the infinite possibilities of intelligent manufacturing.
• You might be responsible for the research and development of perception algorithms in Bosch's autonomous driving technology, including but not limited to: environmental perception, object detection, tracking and prediction, path planning, precise control, high-precision map algorithms, etc., as well as the innovation thru artificial intelligence on engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and intelligent services fields across various products and domains of Bosch.
• You will stay current with latest research and technology trends to build state of the art machine learning/deep learning models. You will review code written by others for critical feedback. You will be responsible for the modelling process from raw data to deployment ready model for production.
• You will collaborate with AI scientists, domain experts and engineering teams. You will share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas through papers, patents and presentations to research staff, management, and key decision makers.

Scientifically verified knowledge and insights are the foundation of our sustainable solutions. Through our innovation, we develop a vision for the future product of Bosch, evaluate its feasibility, and convert it into practical solutions. We set trends and enable new business opportunities for Bosch.

· Research and development of innovative 3D computer vision/perception algorithms such as deep learning based object detection, semantic segmentation, environment reconstruction based on camera/LiDAR for robotics, autonomous driving, and other fields

· Participate in the design and development of the perception pipeline.

· Cooperation with Bosch business units in China and worldwide for requirement analysis, technology transfer, and to evaluate market attractiveness of new concepts

· Scouting, identification, and tracking of new trends and emerging technologies in China, derive impacts on Bosch research strategy and identify key partners

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Education: Ph.D and above in computer science, mathematics, physics or related field with strong background in machine learning (ML) or deep learning (DL).
• Personality: We are looking for a teammate who is: keen to learn new technologies and share knowledge, a team player and as well as able to work independently, motivated, goal-oriented and pro-active.
• Experience:
• Familiar with machine learning technologies, especially on computer vision related object detection, recognition, tracking and positioning algorithms. Practical R&D experience in the field of autonomous driving is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g. Python, C/C++).
• Demonstrated experience in working with ML/DL frameworks (e.g. sklearn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Excellent teamwork spirit, excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Hands-on experience in working with Spark clusters or GPU clusters is a big plus.
• Publications at major conferences or journals is a big plus.
• Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken)
