Bosch Australia’s Chassis Systems Control team is responsible for the development of hardware and software systems that improve vehicle safety and agility for our mostly automotive customers. Our customer base is global having engineered projects and solutions for Europe, North/South America, China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea and Australia.

Job Description

We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Vehicle Dynamics Calibration Engineer within our Chassis Systems Control division. This is an ongoing full time role and may be based at either our Head Office in Clayton or Proving Ground office in Anglesea with a preference on the Anglesea location.

Position responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting performance driving tests on either passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, motorcycles or other specialty vehicles in a test environment
  • Calibrating software/algorithms by in vehicle limit testing to meet customer requirements
  • Supporting embedded software and systems development for Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and other chassis control related functions
  • Supporting the development of software control systems to meet internal and OEM customer requirements
  • Supporting the release of software to production in line with project timing
  • Maintaining project documentation
  • Attending domestic and international winter & summer vehicle tests trips to support customer projects
  • Contributing to and facilitating knowledge transfer within the global team

Qualifications

We are looking for a conscientious professional with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines and deliver results.

To be considered for this position you should be able to demonstrate:

  • An Engineering Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Software or equivalent qualification
  • An ability to work with and understand C/C++ programming, or equivalent
  • Customer focus and commitment to delivering results on time
  • Clear communication (oral and written) and a collaborative approach to teamwork
  • General understanding of the electrical and mechanical operation of vehicles
  • Hold a current and valid driver’s licence
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

Other Desirable attributes:

  • Experience in the development of an embedded software control system, incl. coding skills
  • Experience in automotive development
  • Understanding of chassis kinematics and dynamic theory of vehicles
  • Hold a current and valid Motorcycle licence and have some riding experience
  • Have taken part in Formula SAE (FSAE) projects
  • Hands-on experience working on mechanical and or electrical projects/hobbies
  • Don’t mind getting your hands “dirty” from time to time
  • An interest and passion to work on vehicles and test them to their limits
