In this role, you will assist in our data discovery efforts to acquire and ingest internal/external data sources into our global data platform & support our data governance effort by guarding our clients & employee data with the documentation of metadata to protect our brand and our data assets ensuring their appropriate use. The Data Acquisition & Governance Lead Analyst role combines analysis, communications and project management- identifying the business need or opportunity, analyzing and researching data sources, understanding and sharing data knowledge, and building a foundation for data governance and effective collaboration across functions.

You will be responsible for documenting use cases from multiple business units, and overseeing the prioritization of data ingestion into our global data platform. This includes use case discovery, gathering data requirements and research to support the use cases, and documenting metadata to support data governance efforts (including data lineage and data quality rules). Additionally, this includes understanding how data flows from one system to the next, and the depiction within our data governance tools. You will guide business functions on adherence to the onboarding process and create requirements for data ingestion & technical fulfillment to house the metadata within our data governance toolset. You will also be responsible for measuring end user engagement with our data governance tools and supporting them in their ability to explore data that is available to them.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day in the life of a Data Acquisition & Governance Lead Analyst at ADP.

  • Subject Matter Expert. You will be providing your guidance and expertise with regards to data acquisition, data governance, and data management best practices.
  • Data Knowledge. You will be driving the collection of metadata on internal/external data sources to provide a foundation for enterprise data governance. You will need to dive into the data to thoroughly understand it including data profiling and data quality. You will be seen as a data expert and can guide users to the best sources of data to solve their needs.
  • Collaboration. You will need to influence & collaborate with internal stakeholders including Business Units, Information Security, Data Privacy, Legal and others to align the use cases, data requirements and access framework within existing ADP policies and standards. You will also need to work with vendors to address data & business requirements.
  • Challenges. You’re comfortable working on systems with tech that has never been used before. Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll rely on you to look for a solution. You are able to work independently and adapt to continually changing priorities and timeframes.
  • Learning. You’re always learning and operating with a "figure it out" mentality.

A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills and experience to do the job.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • Your 5-7 years of data management experience (CDMP certification preferred) will ensure your success.
  • Should have work experience with big data, enterprise level and nice to have technical/developer background
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb complex concepts and are outcome focused and drive development of actionable, achievable, and measurable improvements.
  • You are an influencer with the ability to communicate with diverse groups and influence change throughout the organization
  • Proven track record in change management, process improvement, technology, and business transformation.
  • You have an upbeat, persistent style and enjoy meeting new people and forming relationships. You can manage your time well, prioritize deliverables, and multi-task with the best of them. In addition, you can present your ideas in a clear, professional manner on paper, in-person, and over the phone.
  • You have an ambitious spirit and thrive under pressure, motivating you to not only hit performance objectives but exceed them.

Compensation range for US Nevada residents: $84,700 - $128,725
