Job Description

The Senior Key Account Manager is accountable for development, growth, and implementation of sales strategy and effective account management for OEM customers. Focus will be placed on growth of existing specialty service tool and equipment programs along with business development activities. This includes identifying complex customer solutions and assisting Sales leadership with the preparation and presentation of these solutions. This position is responsible for strengthening customer relationships and increasing customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have technical aptitude and automotive industry experience.

As the Senior Key Account Manager, you play a critical role in customer relationship and account strategy, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term growth. This role will have a heavy focus in managing the program and contract implementation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regularly visit customers to actively research, identify and develop collaborative customer relationships.
  • Develop and present solutions to customer decision makers at all levels.
  • Lead contract amendment(s) and/or contract renewal both internally and with customer
  • Lead product launches and customer initiatives.
  • Assist in Tool Development and Release processes
  • Support Customer Service in resolution of dealer issues
  • Be self-dependent in the analysis and evaluation of complex customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal product and service owners to deliver product and service features, functions, and specifications in alignment with customer needs.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, solutions, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Formulate sales strategy and annual account plans using knowledge of the market and competitors. Identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Forecast, track, and record sales activities to meet or exceed targets.
  • Assist in tech suites, trade shows, and other product and capabilities presentations

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of tool and equipment channels in the industry.
  • Above average analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Automotive Technology)
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience engaging with senior level customer leadership
  • Effective communicator using written, verbal, listening and presentation with the ability to tailor approach to audience.
  • French Canadian language skills a benefit but not required
  • Good initiative and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and sell mechanical and electrical products
  • Demonstrated experience and success working in a fast paced, collaborative, complex team environment
  • Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to multi-task to effectively handle numerous projects, initiatives, and issues.
  • Proficient in MS Office. Experience with SAP and Salesforce a plus – not required.
  • This position is based in the Greater Toronto Area.
