The Role

BuzzFeed is looking for a Senior Social Media Strategist to join our team. You will work on the Video Social Team and have a hand in all social platforms. This role will focus heavily on creating social strategy around Tasty and food content. .

This role reports to our Lead Social Media Strategist, Video.

You Will

  • Work with Lead Social Media Strategist to help define day-to-day operations and publishing priorities for Tasty content on all social platforms
  • Develop social strategy for Tasty videos / their distribution and partner with Tasty video producers to help ideate new videos and engage our audience
  • Help Tasty social develop promotion strategies and pursue new opportunities around products like Tasty cookware and promotion of Tasty Creators.
  • Ideate and lead creative strategy around our shortform video initiatives, and work with our Tasty team and talent to execute these shortform videos.
  • Analyze and craft reports on social performance and trends, messaging key results to Tasty, social, and business teams
  • Engage with the BuzzFeed Tasty community across platforms
  • Help maintain the cheery and collaborative BuzzFeed culture with a positive attitude and obsession with the things people are sharing, liking, recommending and talking about on the internet

You Have

  • 3+ years experience running social accounts for a major publisher or brand
  • 1+ years of people management experience
  • Experience working with food/lifestyle content
  • Experience in publishing/ optimizing video to social media, and helping brands/ publishers create engaging social video content
  • Ability to leverage data to understand an audience and explain data to other teams in an easy-to-understand way
  • A self-motivated personality comfortable carving out new responsibilities
  • A strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc., and why content on those platforms takes off or captures an audience
  • A positive, curious, playful disposition
  • A genuine love for and excitement about the internet
