Description:This position is for a data analyst at Lockheed Martin Corporate headquarters. The selected individual will be responsible for developing and optimizing solutions that employ advanced analytical models that inform decision making triggered by key indicators such as process health and performance. Through their work, the data analyst will assist internal auditors to place resources on the most critical issues and help mitigate risks affecting the corporation.
Secondary assignments will include data mining and extraction coupled with visualization projects encompassing front-end client interfaces and back-end data consumption.
This position is virtual at corporate headquarters, but employees must be located near a U.S. based Lockheed Martin facility.
Specific responsibilities for this position include:
• Working with all parts of the data analytics pipeline, such as data collection, wrangling, cleaning, analysis, visualization and presentation
• Solving complex challenges involving data modeling, scenario creation, risk analysis, data mining/validation, and development of business rules to guide technology development.
• Documenting requirements, designs and detailed technical specifications, training materials, operating instructions, and test plans to support development of predictive analytic solutions.
• Partnering with business & technical experts to identify analytic opportunities and deliver on client-specific requirements.
• Incorporating novel technology capability into the analytic solution development.
The salary for this position will be adjusted to reflect the salary band for the geographic location of the selected employee. This position may involve approximately 10-20% travel.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems/Sciences, Mathematics or related field.
Demonstrated experience using Tableau as well as other data analytics and visualization tools.
Experience with data modeling.

• MBA, Data Science Masters, or Masters degree in related field
• Ability to understand the data lifecycle and be able to interpret and communicate data
• Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis
• Experience developing and documenting functionality requirements
• Experience working with cross-functional, diverse, and virtual teams
• Experience with Agile development processes and tools
• Understanding of system databases, data elements and application software solutions to optimize data gathering and analysis
• Experience with SQL and Programming languages, preferably Python and C#
• Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen
• Strong oral and written communications skills, analytical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to clearly and effectively articulate problem statements (verbal, written)
• Willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Demonstrated multitasking abilities
