Job Summary:
WRI is seeking a Project Manager for its Electric School Bus Initiative, to serve on its Management and Operations Team.
In this dynamic role, you will oversee the project management of the Electric School Bus Initiative (ESBI) whose goal is to create unstoppable momentum toward the equitable electrification of the entire U.S. school bus fleet by 2030. This is a high-visibility project within WRI that offers the chance to work across the intersection of a variety of topics including environment, equity, transportation, energy, health and education. The project is funded by a $30 million dollar grant through September 2025. You will work with the director and senior managers to ensure alignment with the ESBI strategy and project management standards and provide key support on financial management and partner coordination. You will monitor all project contracts and finances, and advise project managers and directors on grants, finances, and overall program operations. You will coordinate closely with other ESBI managers and staff and serve as a key liaison with other WRI programs and administrative departments.

You will be supported by a team of Project Coordinators who manage ESBI finances, partnership coordination, and alignment with WRI Program operations.
You will report directly to the Director and Senior Managers of the Electric School Bus Initiative and receive additional support from Operations and Project Managers.

Education: You have a Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s degree with 2 additional years of relevant experience), in Project Management, Administration, or similar field, and/or PMP Certification
Experience and Qualifications: You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant full-time work experience in project management, financial management, or nonprofit operations
