Job Description

Eaton’s North American Financial Services Division is currently seeking a Lead Financial Systems Analyst- RTR to join our team. This position is based at our Beachwood, Ohio location.

Position Overview:

Eaton's Global Financial Services and Systems (GFSS) team has an exciting opportunity for Lead Financial Systems Analyst in our Record to Report (RTR) team. The Lead Financial Systems Analyst is vital contributor within the RTR team and will be the techno-functional lead for the GL team. The position is will support the GL financial systems, be responsible for system configuration, maintain the Multi Org business requirements documentation, support subledger accounting governance and improvements, and be a driver for continuous improvement. This position will work cross-functionally with other GFSS workstreams (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, etc.) as well as corporate accounting and operations to support data integrity/governance in Oracle and SAP.

In this function you will:

General Support:

  • Finance technical lead who evaluates and recommends changes to the global finance applications and GFSS managed boundary systems, that impact setups and configurations, FRICEW (forms, reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions, workflows) objects, standard global processes and localizations, and the integration of new sites and services
  • Manage RTR GL functional configuration process and related coordination with IT configuration team; provide guidance to other GFSS workstream functional configuration process owners to drive consistency and knowledge transfer across workstreams for better assessment of impact.
  • Drive improved data quality through recommendation of process improvements and/or implementation of additional validation methods, including recommended solutions or tools to support; coordination with other RTR teams.
  • Monitor and track potential data issues that may be a result of timing, duplicate systems, inconsistent sources, manual processes, etc. and recommend solutions across Oracle and SAP
  • Maintain working knowledge of Oracle subledger accounting to assess data inquiries and provide guidance on configuration changes that might impact quality of data ultimately in general ledger
  • Provide guidance on adhoc troubleshooting of data inconsistencies
  • Collaboration with downstream financial application owners and finance peers to improve data quality overall efficiencies in financial processes and projects; drive preventive measures and solutions to further promote data quality across financial applications.
  • Coordination with direct peers (noted below) to develop data query or reporting solutions to support global workstream process changes.

Projects:

  • Project participation includes supporting review of functional requirements, participation in functional overviews with technical resources, serving as functional subject matter expert to address questions, complete data validation, and communicate to other teams.
  • Lead GL resource in acquisition integration activities including initial setups, ERP mappings, and support to the operations and corporate accounting teams with any system related activity
  • Coordinate and lead GFSS workstream review of playbook steps for divestiture projects.
  • Support the migration of sites from Oracle to SAP

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 4 years of finance/accounting experience
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the geographic area will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Position Criteria:

  • Comprehensive understanding of financial applications
  • Experience with financial system maintenance, implementations, and related troubleshooting
  • Functional Oracle/SAP financial application experience, including subledger modules
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experience with any third-party query or reporting applications a plus, (i.e., SQL, OBIEE, Excel4Apps, Power BI, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong focus on self-awareness and self-management
  • Strong work ethic with good organizational and time management skills
  • Strong focus on promoting process standardization and harmonization
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Open to working in self-sufficient nature, with direct team, and with diverse global team - which may require working outside standard hours to engage with global team
