Our Team and Opportunity

Business Technology & Analytics (BT&A) sits within Global Fund Accounting (GFA) which forms part of the broader Finance division at Vanguard.

BT&A is a global GFA team which focuses on value-add tasks by removing waste, automating manual tasks and provide real-time data via digital platforms. We do this through efficient project management, accurate and reliable metrics and reporting, effective business technology advancement and maintenance.

Our services include

Process Integration Management - Leading core process improvement efforts

Workflow Optimization Enablement - Overseeing lifecycle of the Cross-Product Capabilities

Data & Analytics Strategic Consulting - Strategic consulting focused on analytics integration oversight and data transformation stewardship

Reporting - Enabling management & senior staff reporting

The following skills would enable you to be successful in this role

  • Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment

  • Proficient understanding of NWoW techniques (to include Lean management, Agile and Human Centered Design)
  • Ability to learn new concepts and tools quickly

Understanding of tools such as Power BI, Tableau and Python

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyzes business and user needs and documents requirements. Assists in formulating and defining systems scope and objectives. Advises on business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
  • Translates clients requirements to functional documentation, and participates in technical designs and test planning.
  • Performs customer support processes and activities for the implementation of new or existing applications. Supports the collection, documentation, and maintenance of functional requirements and modelling.
  • Designs, prototypes, codes, and tests new or enhanced applications. Analyzes current procedures and workflows and develops recommendations for improvements, revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary.
  • Assists in the implementation of systems and software. Monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoots problems, as necessary.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
  • Three years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Future of Work

During the pandemic, we transitioned to a work from home model for the majority of our crew and we continue to interview, hire, and on-board future crew remotely.

As we have developed the path forward, we have taken a thoughtful approach that both maximizes the advantages of working remotely and the many benefits of coming together and collaborating in a shared workspace. We believe that in-person interactions among our crew are important for preserving our unique culture and advantageous for the personal development of our crew.

When our Crew return to the office, many will work in our hybrid model. A smaller proportion of our crew will operate in the Work from Home work model (for example, field sales crew); or in the Work from Office model (for example, portfolio managers).
