We are seeking a hard-working Protective Security Training Specialist for our Tampa, FL facility.

The actual onsite days are resolved between each employee and the employee’s manager.
Job Requirements
Leads the development and sustainment of the protective security training program for security officers and other USAA personnel. Teaches and administers all relevant protective security content. Conducts initial security training and maintenance security training for USAA bank employees in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
- Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
- Provides security orientation/training to USAA employees in distributed work facilities.
- Maintains effective liaison with law enforcement and corporate security personnel.
- Maintains control and accountability for USAA ammunition, protective security training equipment, and uniform equipment.
- Performs all other tasks as assigned to include maintaining skill level and proficiency of protective security roles and responsibilities by occasionally performing protective security services for USAA (less than 10% of time).
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 4 or more years operational experience in security force or law enforcement.
- Job Offer contingent on passing a Fit for Duty evaluation.
- Initial and continued employment conditional upon passing USAA’s Protective Security training standards within 3 attempts (for initial and follow-on training cycles) and obtaining required state armed security license and/or certification for assigned post state, i.e., Texas security commission, Florida security D and G licenses, Arizona armed guard training within 6 months.
Preferred Experience:
- Have current, or ability to obtain National Rifle Association (NRA) Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor certification
- The ability to obtain Florida Private Security firearms instructor K License
- 3 or more years of leadership in military or law enforcement
- 5 or more years’ experience as firearms instructor
- 3-5 years as certified as a nationally recognized handgun instructor, NRA, Sig Sauer, Glock
- Have the physical ability to set up and break down range targets in an outdoor environment
- Experience conduct defensive tactics and active shooter response training

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $72,900.00 - 131,400.00 *.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.
Shift premium will be addressed on an individual basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
