Description:Description: The Missiles & Fire Control Data and Analytics Team is looking for a high-energy individual with a strong background in machine learning and data science to help grow its business and streamline decisions at the organization. The selected candidate will apply data science techniques in support of all programs within the business area. This role will have a particular focus on supporting the development of data science products by working with stakeholders to understand their business needs, translate them into data problems, and then set the direction of projects to solve those data problems. This individual must drive the work from prototype through to completion and delivery of a minimum viable product or final product so that the business users capture value from the work of the team.
Basic Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience, with 2 years of professional experience; or a related Master’s degree.
o Previous experience in applying any of the following machine learning areas to business problems: supervised regression/classification, natural language processing, deep learning, anomaly detection, and reinforcement learning.
o Demonstrated creativity and innovation in identifying valuable ways of incorporating machine learning into business workflows and processes.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o The ability to stay updated on new technologies in the rapidly evolving field of Data Science.
o Strong experience in SQL, and Python. Experience in R will be a plus.
o Work in an Agile, collaborative environment, partnering with other scientists, engineers, consultants, and database administrators of all backgrounds and disciplines to bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of predicting behaviors.
o Must have strong problem-solving skills, and business acumen, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desired Skills:
o Experience with the integration of data products into customer applications.
o Experience with or knowledge of data engineering and associated best practices.
o Experience with or knowledge of AWS.
o Experience with or expertise in manufacturing and/or engineering processes.
o Experience with UI/UX and/or human-machine interaction.
o Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Shiny, Dash)
