JOB SUMMARY

Aveda is one of the fastest growing brands in Estee Lauder EMEA (double digit for three years in a row) and the #1 high performance Vegan haircare in the prestige sector.

We are seeking seeking a pro-active and passionate Product Manager . The primary objective of this role will be to develop and to ensure the successful and effective development and implementation of the Marketing Calendar. This role will lead the development and execution of Aveda Marketing & Trade Marketing Strategy to include new launches and flagship door (imcl online) programs to engage our consumers across all touch-points and channels.

You will need to be commercially driven; supporting EMEA local marketing manager to develop and offer best portfolio (optimal offer, quantity, pricing) to drive additional sales and with EMV approach (understand media impact of the plan and innovation)

CONSUMER CALENDAR DEVELOPMENT & EXCECUTION

  • Develop launch plan in accordance with regions needs
  • Lead trade offer and omnichannel offer - close work with Online manager to agree on best offers to create strong sell in and sell out
  • Lead delivery of marketing calendar and partner with the Demand Planning Team to develop forecasts for new product launches in relevant categories and deliver strong omnichannel activations
  • Own brand sampling strategy from forecast to store delivery. Support in the execution and management of corporate and retailer sampling boxes and initiatives. Close liaison with Demand Planner to ensure on-going sample database is up-to-date and ensure close management of this.
  • Communicate regularly with Global Marketing to outline market needs. Providing feedback on new product launches and other programs, as well as on local market trends and competitive activity.
  • Work collaboratively with wider marketing and online to ensure all teams are well briefed on forthcoming launches and Work with Global team to ensure all new launch strategies are relevant and optimised for EMEA market execution.

  • Support with the development and implementation of Retailer Exclusives and local initiatives
  • Be a key player and leaser, working closely with the Demand Planner in the control of inventory through the accurate forecasting and management of both saleable and non-saleable
  • Monitor the market constantly, becoming an expert by advising the business on competitor activity and strategy, and making key recommendations on how to drive the business forward.
  • Conduct mix of business, and site analyses to maintain a pulse on the business and identify trends
  • Work with wider brand and online teams on sampling programmes for recruitment & retention initiatives.
  • Develop and Manage forecasting gift quantities to support all channels
  • Transform consumer insights into tangible outcomes to deliver competitive advantage for the brand – with EMV as a key business indicator
  • Share and leverage best practices among affiliates
  • Work closely with the Online Manager and media manager
  • Lead campaign calls - as part as monthly “Go to market” call

PORTFOLIO STRATEGY FOR PROFITABILITY INCREASE

  • Lead all Pricing activity for the brand, including the implementation of the annual pricing review involving the collation of all competitor pricing and analysing categories to identify opportunities within the marketplace and the presentation of recommendations
  • Formulate all pricing for new launches and ensure the implementation in the relevant systems in a timely manner.
  • Work with the global and local team to propose product discontinuation

REPORTING & ANALYTICS

  • Monthly analysis of key business metrics: NPD, sell in, CRM .
  • Own the analysis of NPD market data and KCI : identify growth opportunities and leverage for trade and e-com presentation
  • Sell in analysis to provide data to region and global
  • Monthly analysis of new launches from forecast attainment to sell in/sell out performances
  • Provide, on a monthly basis, analysis & learnings to the regional and affilates during Go to market calls

Team Management

  • Manage two junior persons at EMEA, matrix with supply and demand disivion but lead marketing manager in the markets
  • Coach direct reports giving regular feedback on performance as well as ad-hoc training sessions to allow the direct reports to develop and progress.
  • Lead by example and cultivate a supportive and engaging working environment.
  • Strong relationship with all markets and Aveda EMEA & LATAM and particularly social / E-com team

Qualifications
  • Candidates should be educated to degree / graduate level with experience of working in a marketing function.
  • Proven track record in product marketing including launch roll-out, product forecasting and go-to-market planning across functions
  • Highly numerate and analytical with great attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure, juggling many projects with a level of autonomy.
  • Proven organisational skills and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An interest in and understanding of all things beauty.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of retail business and ecommerce
  • Understanding of PR and impact of product launches
  • Ideally one to two additional languages among Spanish – priority , Italian, German .
  • Results orientated and strong work ethic embracing Estee Lauder values
