Job Description

Description:Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Preferred candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations.
Demonstrate ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex. Determine the sequence of build, selecting or designing required tools, solving production problems, and developing working relationships with a multi-disciplined team of people who are dedicated to plan and build mechanical piece parts and assemblies effectively and assemblies.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Entry level.
Familiarity of production manufacturing and assembly processes, and interpreting engineering drawings to create work instructions.
Familiarity of engineering drawings, bills of materials, and production planning.
Good verbal and written communication including technical writing. Ability to read, analyze and interpret various technical procedures and reports. Ability to write reports and keep accurate documentation.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite, Excel in particular.
Desired Skills:
Minimum 3 years of experience working on Satellite propulsion systems.
Experience in radiator/cold plate fabrication.
Experience in MLI fabrication.
Experience in Tube Bending with manual and auto tube bender.
Experience in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience in configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar.
Experience in pressurization/pneumatics systems.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as CreoParametric, CreoView, EdgeCAM.
