The Littorial Combat Ship (LCS) Sustainment Hull Manager provides the for overall management and technical oversight for the LCS Sustainment Team including all
subcontractors, and Lockheed Martin sites
participating in the LCS Fleet Sustainment
Program effort. In addition, the Hull Manager is
responsible for Customer Relations and final
review and authority for all program decisions
and deliverables, assignment, coordination, and
maintenance of resources necessary to execute
and support execution of program objectives.
Each Hull Manager will be responsible for
managing maintenance projects on their
assigned ship. The Hull Project Manager plays a
key role in the successful Fleet Sustainment
support efforts and functions in a number of
roles requiring flexibility to meet a variety of
tasking across all awarded efforts within the
contract.
1. Function as the primary interface to the USN
for all efforts involving LCS Fleet Sustainment.
2. Will also function as a key integrator between
all supporting elements required to effectively
support LCS ships
3. Provides the primary interface with the
SUPSHIP and PMS 501 Government Post
Delivery Manager for Sustainment issues and or
concerns.
4. Responsible for coordinating, assigning and
maintaining the resources necessary to support
execution of program objectives.
5. Assist with oversight and management of
ongoing maintenance projects.
6. Assists with availability planning and
execution
7. This position is expected to be co-located with
Government Hull Manager during all
availabilities.
8. Assists with contracting and subcontracting activities
9. Review status of projects and budgets;
manage schedules and prepare status reports.
10. Assess project issues and develops
resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and
client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
11. Requires travel (approx. 50%).
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to research design and implementation
issues, read and translate ship drawings, and
communicate implementation approaches and
deficiencies.
Major Significant Ship experience, including in
depth knowledge of the NAVSEA Standard
Items.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing
priorities.
Ability to build effective relationships with
ship’s crew and Navy customers.
Ability to obtain Security clearance
Desired Skills:
Management experience in a ship repair
facility.
US Navy or US Government leadership
experience in an engineering or combat systems
maintenance role.
Navy maintenance process and resources
familiarity.
Knowledge of LCS Program, the ship, and its
systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval
Architecture, or Marine Engineering or equivalent
ship development or naval engineering education
and experience.
