Software Developer

Job Description

We’re looking for a talented Software Developer to join our established IT team in Belfast. This role will suit individuals that are looking for their first commercial experience as a developer, or those looking to move on after 1-2 years commercial experience in their current role.

Our data engineering teams build data tools and pipelines that safely, consistently and efficiently transform and enrich our data. Once enriched, data outputs include data staged for BI tool use, compiled and delivered to clients for custom integrations, or made available for syndicated web site outputs. By joining our data engineering team you’ll be helping us to ensure that our analysts and researchers always have the most reliable, up-to-date information at their fingertips.

In this role your would

• Join a diverse, high-functioning agile team
• Develop features for our data applications and data processing platform
• Contribute to your team’s technical work autonomously and reliably move projects forward
• Follow engineering and technology-specific best practices and standards as outlined by engineering leads and architects for the team
• Participate in testing and other quality assurance activities
• Influence the direction of your team through continuous improvement activities
• Take part in intensive pairing activities to get you up to speed quickly with our technology stack

What We’re Looking For:

• 1-2 years of software development experience within university or a commercial setting
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Previous Python experience or a willingness to learn
• Aptitude for identifying and solving problems
