Job Summary

The Project Manager 3, Orion and Release Management is responsible for managing the complete life cycle of moderately-to-highly complex projects, including approval, planning, execution and closeout to ensure planned results are achieved on time. They develop budgets, timelines and ensure progress to plan, as well as track critical project achievements. The PM works with vendors and teams to establish and achieve goals, coordinates the activities of a cross-functional team including exempt and nonexempt employees. They have in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in their own discipline and act as a resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience.

ITBSD sits at the heart of IT Business Services Delivery. The Orion project is that platform which will support those services and to which this Project Manager will be aligned.

Skills Required:

  • At least one year of experience with Rally
  • PowerPoint and other presentation tools
  • Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Jira is desired
  • Experience with Tableau and/or other BI Tools desired
  • Release Management

Core Responsibilities:

  • Orion Project Business Services (Project Manager)
  • Planning (Business Services)
  • Governance and Reporting
  • Presentations to Leadership
  • Prioritize work for teams
  • Assisting BSD Legacy applications with release management
  • Working with VPs to get releases approved as needed
  • Provides research and assistance to leadership in the development and design of new projects
  • Uses formal processes and tools to handle resources, budgets, risks and changes
  • Runs project status and information in the form of formal briefings, project update meetings and written, electronic and graphic reports
  • Develops, maintains , and leads detailed project plans, action item registers and major landmark timelines for all assigned projects
  • Provides overall prioritization and director of work assignments, team resources etc. Monitor and build project results
  • Coordinates with other work streams, projects and initiatives which may impact successful completion of projects
  • Leads all assigned projects to completion ensuring on-time delivery, meeting budgetary demands, and maintaining overall project ownership
  • Maintains communication with partners
  • Facilitates project meetings
  • Addresses problems through risk management and contingency planning and presents solutions and/or options to executive management. Ensures effective implementation of solutions/changes
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular and consistent attendance.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
