Job Summary

Our supply chain management team creates bottom-line impact by driving cost management and operational benefits. Within our supply chain, we have many Category's managed globally that support our NA plants. This role will support the categories to identify suppliers located in Mexico that can support Eaton's NA Vehicle business. This person needs have extensive knowledge in many categories, understand how to identify and validate suppliers for each category, and be able to track progress on a regular basis. This role will work with our Enterprise Mexico Localization Specialist to find synergies and increase results.

Job Responsibilities

  • This position will lead Mexico Localization for Vehicle Group
  • You will identify suppliers located in Mexico that can support our business (current suppliers that can move manufacturing to Mexico, new suppliers in Mexico)
  • You will work with specific categories to understand their spend, strategy and localization needs to gain alignment of how you will support
  • Track and report on USMCA metrics
  • New suppliers search (Industrial summits, Government organizations, Professional associations, Internet,...)
  • Initial supplier screening (commercial, spend, capabilities,..), NDA
  • Standard terms & expectations communicated to suppliers
  • 2nd supplier screening (capabilities, capacity, Eaton needs) with CM
  • Must have MX Local market intelligence input for future category & business strategies
  • Share suppliers’ profiles with category managers and align on RFQ activities
  • You will be responsible to meet Mexico localization targets
  • Bi-weekly project progress reviews (lead meeting, track using program management tools, report results)
  • Work with Enterprise Mexico Localization Specialist to maximize results
Qualifications

Education level required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Supply Chain related certification (e.g. CPM, CPIM)
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain from an accredited institution

Years and area of experience required

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' professional experience in Category Management or Procurement or a minimum of 7 years' professional experience in Supply Chain or Operations
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years’ professional supply base experience in a global business environment
  • 3 - 5 years’ professional experience with accountability across multiple manufacturing facilities

Technical knowledge

  • Knowledge of Mexico suppliers
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience in successfully identifying, validating/qualifying suppliers to increase spend with Mexico suppliers that can support our North America business.
  • Creative thinking skills
  • Knowledge of USCMA guidelines and can track progress

Soft skills

  • Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with senior management, suppliers, operations and SCM personnel
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional / global teams
  • Ability to influence and drive change
  • Ability to drive results
