Join our Lockheed Martin team as a
Senior Battery Design Engineer where you will be a responsible product engineer as part of the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) Program.
This role will include the following responsibilities:
• Coordinate technical work products between the electrical power subsystem, avionics, and systems analysis.
• Derive requirements for battery systems and devices for missile electrical systems.
• Develop battery system concepts and specifications. Compose battery system designs from the block diagram through interface schematic levels.
• Analyze and predict battery system performance.
• Have knowledge and experience of battery chemistry for state-of-the-art and leading-edge cell technologies.
• Oversee component (part, CCA, assembly) manufacture internally at our world class battery suppliers.
• Support electrical integration of batteries into the Mission Support Vehicle.
• Provide supplier oversight of battery components and assembly processes.

Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience with battery related analysis tools and/or electrical circuit simulations and modeling.
• Experience with requirements review component selection, creation of design packages, and generation of test procedures.
Desired Skills:• Prior experience with development and production of battery systems for space or missile applications.
• Experience in development of Li-ion battery systems or Thermal battery systems.
• Experience in design of radiation tolerant electronics products is a plus.
• Successfully transitioned at least one battery concept to a delivered product or system.
• Familiarization with safety critical complex hardware design standards such as DO-254.
• Ability to diagnose and solve a variety of battery and electrical related problems and document the testing processes and results in the appropriate problem reporting system.
• Experience with developing electrical interfaces and associated control documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with peers, supervisors, and on-site customer personnel.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Zuken, SPICE and other electrical computer aided design tool.
• Prior experience in test data analysis and statistical methods
• Experience with test and troubleshooting of battery systems up to 200 Ahr.
• Preparation for and participation in major program design reviews (Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Manufacturing Design Review, Test Readiness Review).
• Electronics worst case analysis (eWCA) experience.
• Supplier oversight of battery components and assembly processes.
