Computer Vision Research Engineer, Hand Tracking - Graduate Program

Magic Leap is looking for PhD and Masters students to join our team for a 3-6 month Summer Program for Students in Engineering, this program is based in Zurich, Switzerland or Sunnyvale, CA.

Job Description

You will work fully integrated in Magic Leap’s perception team and help shape the perception systems of our newest generation devices.

Depending on your interest and background, you will work on hand tracking problems in one of the following the areas:

  • Integration of temporal information for robust hand pose estimation
  • Improvement of hand pose estimation leveraging multi-modality sensor inputs
  • Self-supervised learning for hand pose estimation
  • Multitask learning for hand pose estimation and mesh generation
  • Improvement of ground truth data generation pipeline to allow better machine annotation.
  • Hand-objects interaction
  • Hand-hand interaction

Must-Haves

  • You have just finished or are finalizing your MSc or PhD degree (preferred) in Computer Science , Robotics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Fluent in Python or C/C++
  • Deep Learning, Computer Vision and 3D geometry knowledge
  • Projects in object detection, tracking, object pose estimation in 2D and 3D, geometric reconstruction, pointcloud processing and meshing

Nice to have

  • Deep Learning using unsupervised and self-supervised approaches
  • Experience with parametric hand model
  • Software optimization, embedded programming, and parallel computing (e.g. SIMD, OpenCL, GPGPU, etc.)

Education

  • MSc or PhD degree (preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent
