Description:Our engineers are exposed to many design, development, and testing aspects of various undersea vehicles and systems. The engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, production, and test through the life cycle. Special expertise in submersible systems and subsea electronics packaging is strongly favored.
The position, located in Palm Beach Florida requires research, design, development, and testing of complex electrical designs including electrical analysis, hands-on testing and troubleshooting, and formal documentation of the electrical design. Many programs that will be worked on require broad electrical support including technical areas such as distributed I/O architectures design, RF systems, remote test station equipment, power distribution systems, fiber optic interconnects, motors and motor controllers, cable harness and interconnect design, subsea video and lighting, integration of acoustic sensor, and issue resolution/troubleshooting of electronics.
Work across disciplines during integration and test activities is required. Flexibility to support scheduled and unscheduled weekend and off-shift hour as well as travel for field support as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Possession of a DoD security clearance.
Experience in designing electrical circuits and electronics assemblies.
Experience with requirements review, component selection, creation of design packages, and generation of test procedures.
Verifiable knowledge of analog and digital electrical systems.
Experience with standard laboratory tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, analyzers and similar tool.
Experienced with performing electrical circuit simulations and modeling.
Desired Skills:
Experienced with unmanned or remotely operated underwater vehicle design.
Knowledge of fiber optic interconnects and testing methods.
Knowledge of network systems and communication
Familiarization with vehicle power distribution and battery power sources.
Ability to diagnose and solve a variety of electrically related problems and document the testing processes and results in the appropriate problem reporting system.
Excellent communication skills to interface with peers, supervisors, and on-site customer personnel.
Experience with AutoCAD, Zuken, SPICE and other electrical computer aided design tool.
