Purpose of Job

We are seeking a hardworking and talented Financial Analyst to work a hybrid schedule from our Charlotte, NC or San Antonio, TX offices.
Responsible for solving business problems while performing forecasting, planning, and financial modeling related to income, profitability, liquidity, capital, leverage, asset and liability management or operating expense, within defined guidelines and framework. Ensures all activities are completed within regulatory and compliance guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and leads existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are identified, measured and controlled.
  • Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
  • Prepares financial forecasts/plans for a business area or expense category; with supervision, develops routine forecasting/planning process and model improvement initiatives.
  • Prepares routine or ad basic hoc financial reports and analysis or cost benefit analysis to support internal and external management decision making.
  • With supervision, delivers financial research and valuable business decision support to financial and operational opportunities.
  • Applies basic technical knowledge and performs product assignment, product pricing, product profitability and ad hoc analysis.
  • Provides informed, proactive analysis and business insights to assist with effective decision making and efficient resource utilization.
  • Acquires and applies maturing knowledge of the business, its products and processes to resolve issues and identify appropriate issues of concern.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related subject area; OR 4 additional years of related (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience conducting, financial analysis, product allocations, expense analysis and preparing financial reports or financial plans OR Advanced degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, progress towards a CPA or CFA designation and up to 2 years of financial / accounting analysis or related work experience.
  • Ability to communicate to various partners.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to proposed solutions.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Excel to produce results.
  • Understanding of financial compliance.

Preferred Experience:

  • Seeking critical thinking candidate with a strong attention to detail, who can quickly learn multiple systems used in our organization
  • Can work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience performing expense analysis a plus
  • An ability to collaborate with large groups of leaders across the business
  • Ability to work overtime/late a few days a month

Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $54,800.00-$98,700.00.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

*Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.

Shift premium will be addressed on an individual basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
