Senior Backend Engineer [RenderATL]

Spotify is now looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a team dedicated to identifying, building and shipping innovative new products and services. What You'll Do:

• Develop backend services in Java that expose data both in relational and non-relational databases to a React frontend
• Coordinate technical projects across multiple teams within Spotify
• Facilitate collaboration with engineers, product owners, and designers to tackle exciting and challenging problems for delivering value to artists and fans
• Deploy and operate the backend services that you develop on Google’s GCP cloud
• Be a leader of the Spotify-wide backend developer community affecting and driving our architecture across the company
• Work in an environment that supports your individual growth by providing you with challenging tasks to solve and the freedom to acquire new skills in hack time, reading groups, lectures, and a variety of internal training courses

Who You Are:

• You have at least 4+ years of professional experience working in a product-driven environment in Java
• Bonus: You have experience with data pipelines with Scio/Scala
• An expert technical leader who’s capable of directing a team through sophisticated Discovery and Delivery phases
• You have expert communication and collaboration skills and go above and beyond to ensure alignment across disciplines
• You’re passionate about delivering end-to-end experiences and care about your software architecture across the backend, front-end, and the APIs that glue them together
• You care about quality and you know what it means to ship high-quality code
