The team
Our Finance team plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimal financial management, and efficient operations across DocuSign. The team consists of Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Revenue Operations, Investor Relations, and Business Operations. The Finance team partners across all organizations in DocuSign to appropriately allocate resources, inform key business decisions, and facilitate the execution of our operational plans.

This position
This is a contract role to support the team during a particularly busy period driven by an Oracle implementation and exceptional business growth. The successful candidate will support the existing GL accounting team by taking responsibility for managing the day-to-day accounting reviews and approvals for the EMEA and APAC entities. They will support the team through the monthly and quarterly close processes. Candidates should have experience of monthly close processes, preferably in a US headquartered multinational, as well as a strong understanding of both US GAAP and Irish/UK GAAP. Experience of large company ERP systems such as NetSuite/Oracle/SAP would be beneficial. Attention to detail and the ability to deliver results under strict deadlines as well as working effectively cross-functionally in a rapidly changing environment is critical

This position is a people manager role reporting to Director, Accounting Operations and is designated Flex.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and quarter-end processes, for various DocuSign entities in EMEA, and APAC through the review and approval of journal entries for all financial statement areas.
  • As part of the close process ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are reviewed and approved in line with established reporting deadlines.
  • Review monthly P&L flux analyses for the EMEA entities.
  • Support annual US GAAP audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Review and approve payroll and payroll accounting for the Ireland, Germany and UK entities.
  • Work with the EMEA GL team to resolve issues, implement efficiencies and drive process improvement in month end close processes.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

Basic qualifications

  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Minimum 10 years post qualification experience in industry
  • Experience with US GAAP and UK/Irish GAAP
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Business related degree
  • Experience in a multi-national company, preferably US Headquartered
  • Exposure to working in a multi-currency environment
  • Experience with NetSuite or other large company ERP/accounting system
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization
