Description:Functional Manager for Manufacturing Engineers (MEs) supporting commodity areas of the RMS Orlando Factory.
This position will manage a team of MEs supporting additive manufacturing, machine shop, cable and sub-assembly.
Support the Design for Manufacturing and Test (DFM and DFT) process and ensures it is carried out at all stages of development.
Supports Advanced Manufacturing projects such as automation, digital thread, augmented reality, model based work instructions, etc.
Supports multiple programs at various stages of development and production and allocates resources to these programs.
Provides guidance, training, and career development for MEs in the factory.
Determines the new machines and technology needed to improve and expand the capabilities in our commodity areas and works to secure funding and ensure successful implementation.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
• Experience working in a factory
• Experience leading people and/or leading projects
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting the adoption of new technologies in a production environment
- Knowledge of ME processes
- lean six sigma training and certification
- knowledge of additive manufacturing, machining, and cables and sub-assembly production
