The Requirements Engineer will ideally have knowledge of systems engineering practices and processes, supporting projects in delivering requirements work. The responsibility is defining and applying Requirements Management activities throughout the life-cycle of projects, delivering on time and budget. The candidate will also be required to implement and maintain document control process and procedures within projects.

A successful candidate will act as the liaison in Systems Engineering Requirements Management for their areas of responsibility to the customer, Project Management, the Bids Group, Systems Engineering and R&D/DevOps.

What will be my Responsibilities?

Handle customer relationships, expectations, and two-way communication as key contact

Identify, break down, and structure requirements across the full spectrum of the YT business

Track change requests and committed delivery dates, detailing progress of implementation

Perform gap analysis between RFPs and current product features and capabilities

Map product and project requirements to product features and technical enablers

Set up traceability of requirements to acceptance criteria for the program and product portfolio

Support analyzing and estimating engineering effort and provide assessment to bids group

Supervise and communicate program metrics around requirements coverage and gaps

Support in detailing evidence against customer and legislative requirements

Provides Document Control support for projects where vital

Collaborate with product owners / product managers on requirements analysis and product roadmap

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Excellent interpersonal skills with both external and internal partners

Experienced in negotiating requirements, uncovering customer motivations and options

Creative problem solving for covering requirements with existing solutions or alternatives

Autonomous worker with high degree of ownership and attention to detail

Phenomenal teammate, able to collaborate well to achieve excellent results together

Effective presentation skills in visual, written, and verbal form

PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Familiar with specific requirements management tools and solutions for traceability

Knowledgeable with document control, baselining, and its application within projects

  • Familiar with distributed, data-intensive software systems, ideally in industrial process control or similar
