Role Description:

BlackRock FMC’s Fundamental Active Equity (FAE) team is seeking an analyst with primary responsibility for research on China equities and the provision of insights and investment recommendations for portfolios. The successful individual will be a key member of the team and responsible for providing not just individual equity calls but also identifying and communicating the investment implications for the broader China equity universe.

As an Analyst on the team, your responsibilities may include:

• Responsible for stock analysis and investment recommendations, undertaking robust and rigorous research and analysis of Chinese companies across to-be-determined sectors, which will include both offshore and A shares.
• Produce investment research for Chinese equities by working together with other investment professionals within the China onshore, Asian and Global Emerging Market (GEM) equities team.
• Provide viewpoints on the outlook for covered industries, and key and pertinent market drivers from top-down and bottom-up perspectives.
• Partner closely with the rest of the Asian and GEM equity teams and build close working rapport. Contribute to the broader alpha generation of the team through provision of relevant and insightful comments on drivers for stocks.
• Operate as part of the team utilizing best practices in terms of philosophy and process while contributing to evolution and development.
• Build partnership and strong working relationship with counterparts around the region
• Be an active contributor to BlackRock’s global investment platform.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years China equity market experience, preferably in leading financial institutions
• Proven research and analytical capabilities, deep knowledge in building materials sector preferred
• Ability to operate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment in an international organization
• Original and independent thinker, able to work in a cross-border team environment
• Excellent analytical, communications and interpersonal skills
• Solid financial modelling capability, logical thinking and figure sensitive
• Open minded and willing to learn from mistakes
• Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing environment
• Ability to produce high-quality, detail-oriented work
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• English and Mandarin language fluency
