Improbable is building M2 (MSquared), a network of interoperable metaverses. This is a new venture incepted by Improbable; this role will initially span both M2 (customer) and the parts of Improbable working as a service provider to M2 (the Metaverse Group) and other 3rd parties. The Operations team is here to make the business run effectively. Our focus is to drive operational excellence while helping to deliver against business goals. We do this by following the processes, reviewing outcomes, and lessons learned, and optimising our approach as we go. We work across the business, so you’ll get to work with people across our engineering, project delivery, and ops teams.
Your Mission As Operations Manager, you will act as the lead for Operations Management for the overall M2 endeavour. This role is the bridge between the aspirational goals of the organisation and realism of what is achievable - the bridge between the two in the strategy process for M2. You will report to the VP Operations & Finance for M2 and will be working closely with the M2 leadership team / GM (dependent on structure) to ensure they have the right tools, processes, structure and resources for the organisation to achieve its goals. You will manage the goal setting process with M2’s leadership. You will own tracking against the agreed plan and measures of success. Improbable will act as a service provider to the M2 organisation. You will drive the definition of an Operating Model for the overall aims of the M2 project and own its ongoing management of all core business units, inclusive of content, technology, commercial and B2B. This will require maintaining strong relationships across multiple disciplines of the leadership team, inclusive of HR & Finance While we think the below experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. Areas for Impact:
- Identify opportunities and risks to our operational effectiveness, analysing root causes to identify the right course of action.
- Work with key stakeholders across the business to ensure they have the tools and information to execute successfully.
- Contribute to our business review cadence, including forecasting processes and related activities; with a focus on developing our performance metrics
- Review and implement operational policies and practices across the business unit, finding ways to improve our ways of working.
- Manage and evolve the target operating model day to day and drive efficiencies where possible - across metrics, reporting, communications, staffing, resource management.
- Support our growth plan, enabling effective and efficient headcount scaling through working with talent and people ops to ensure effective acquisition, onboarding, and ongoing employee experience.
- Help define, develop, and roll out our performance measures - OKRs and KPIs across the business unit, building out reporting dashboards and supporting cadence to ensure effectively deliver.
- Help build and maintain high-performance culture through effective performance management, communications, and training.

- An eye for process improvement and experience defining, managing & optimising cross-functional processes.
- Experience in operations management, particularly in the areas of Business Planning, Internal Communication and Change Management
- A passion for the Games and Crypto industries.
- Experience in one or more of: a Games Development Studio/Outsourcer; Software Development (SaaS/PaaS preferred) organisation; a service organisation with external/internal clients; or, a rapidly scaling start-up.
- Experience of building measurement tools and management reporting.
- Experience working with growing organisations, rightsizing solutions, and ways of working against business objectives.
- Excellent communicator and influencer, with experience building alignment and driving change across organisations.
