Job Description
What is the purpose of this role?
To partner and consult with an assigned group of Owner/Operators to maximise sales, QSC, profit, and people development with the purpose of maximising business potential for the Owner/Operator and the organisation. Additionally, consult with owner/operator for success in Pathway 22 Plan.
What will my key accountabilities be?
- Actively protect the McDonald’s Brand by ensuring critical McDonald’s standards are met for QSC, people minimums, workplace safety practices and sanitation standards
- Take action as required to identify and rectify any matters that my impact on the integrity of the Brand
- Hold Owner/Operators accountable to maintain Brand Standards and the highest levels of execution
- Use the various resources available to identify opportunities and threats for Owner/Operators and restaurants and make recommendations to assist in building a business plan that optimises market potential
- Advocate for the Company and the Owner/Operator, ensuring both points of view are clearly communicated
- Identify priority Owner/Operators’ and/or restaurants and consult to initiate and recommend improvement transformations
- Assist in creating insights or new ways of looking at the business to drive success
- Under direction of the Franchise Manager organize and conduct the Owner/Operator Review process according to requirements, provide recommendations for growth and revise status to the Franchise Manager
- Advise the Owner/Operators’ in developing and executing reinvestment plans annually to include opening new restaurants, rebuilds, remodels, equipment purchases etc.
- Advise Owner/Operators in strategic business initiatives, reinvestment, capital spend and organisational structure
- Utilise the Brand Standards Visit process to further assess growth opportunities
- Recommend the assistance of Regional Support Staff including construction, controllers, real estate, human resources, training etc. as appropriate
- Assist in the training and development of assigned registered applicants (RA)
- Assist in implementing policy and procedure changes instigated by various Departments
- Ensure that Owner/Operator has understanding and the ability to operate and maintain a financially viable business
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Workplace Health and Safety responsibilities and procedures and consult with Owner/Operator to ensure they are enforced at all times
- Actively work with each Owner/Operator to diagnose and provide recommendations to improve the results of restaurant departments and create long-term restaurant objectives
- Coordinates implementation and execution of new initiatives and processes within their markets
- Proactively maintain a strong understanding of new platforms, products and initiatives and provide advice in successful implementation
- Works with Owner/Operators to ensure there are active and relevant local Marketing Plans for each restaurant
- Conduct additional help and support visits as required
- Conduct hospitality visits in line with set targets

Essential technical and behavioural skills
- Great at building strong interpersonal relationships with all stakeholders (Owners/Operators and Corporate Support departments)
- Able to adapt approach and consult at broader business levels (Licensee vs Management teams)
- Able to see the big picture and the impact of their decision on other parts of the business
- Self-motivated and proactive, takes the initiative to pre-empt problems
- Skilful at consulting to determine root causes of problems- utilising data to analyse, and advise in action plan development to add value to the Owner/Operators business
- Operations Champion - Be the expert in the available resources to recommend action for business growth/brand protection for the Operator’s business (CBC)
- Communicates effectively, clearly and honestly with the ability to confidently have challenging conversations
- Able to adjust communication style to constructively have conversations, challenge thinking and create insights
- Assertive in consulting to understand the Owner/Operator’s business and objectives and assist in diagnosing areas of opportunity or growth
- Organised, methodical and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple complex matters at once
- A confident presenter who can engage and influence large audiences
- Ethical and responsible, understands and adheres to McDonald’s Standards of Business Conduct always
