Job Description

The Financial Engineering team is at the core of Stripe to empower mission-critical financial domains including Accounting, Finance & Strategy, and Treasury. Engineers on the Financial Engineering team build platforms, data pipelines, and financial products for the Finance team led by Stripe’s CFO. The use cases include financial analytics and insights, accounting automation, auditing, financial planning & forecasting, and financial business intelligence.

We’re looking for people with a strong background or interest in building successful products and tooling; you’re passionate about solving business problems and making direct impact on customers, you are comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces; and you’re comfortable learning new technologies and systems.

You will

Set the vision, roadmap, and build financial tooling and systems for the Finance team led by Stripe’s CFO.
Make direct business impact in some of Stripe’s most mission critical business domains including Accounting, Finance & Strategy, Treasury, and Business Operations.
Understand user needs and user pain points to prioritize engineering work and deliver high quality solutions to meet Stripe’s Finance team needs
Define and grow your team’s charter with Stripe’s business growth. Recruit great engineers and analysts, in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team and build a diverse team to meet the business goals.
Support the team in achieving a high level of technical, operation excellence and stability, develop team members on the team, helping them advance in their careers

We’re looking for someone who has:

Managed teams that shipped and operated critical tooling and products, experiences of building financial tooling and products is a plus
Successfully built a team from ground-up and recruited great people to your teams. A genuine excitement to help engineers develop new skills and advance in their careers
Work effectively cross-team and cross-function, and are able to think rigorously and make hard decisions and tradeoffs
3+ years of engineering management experience
