Description:Reporting to the Director, Program Performance for Aero and Space within Lockheed Martin Corporate Operations Organization (COO). The selected team member will work with COO leadership and Business Area (BA) leadership to help ensure 100% Mission Success and minimal Red Programs.
This position is anticipated to be a 2 – 3 year strategic rotational assignment to expose the selected candidate to the broader Corporation and allow the candidate to move back into the BAs with enhanced program management knowledge and skills.
This position will focus primarily on two of the four LM BAs: Aero and Space. Specific tasks may include the following:
• Partnering with COO leadership to organize, integrate, and support the COO operational reviews and the mission success planning and tracking with the BAs.
• Co-chairing Corporate-level Proposal/Program Reviews (PPRs) to include Independent Non-Advocate Reviews (INARs), Baseline Reviews (BRs), and Program Assessment Reviews (PARs); Supporting other reviews as needed to include Gold Team, Independent Health Check, Independent Lessons Learned and Program Assists.
• Monitoring and assessing program performance of assigned major programs. Ensure continuity of action item closure and risk management.
• Collaborating with the Corporate Engineering and Technology Program Engagement lead (peer) to ensure that LM Fellows and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are leveraged across the corporation for PPRs and to address challenges on proposals and programs when required.
• Fostering a collaborative environment with the four BAs to ensure that their needs are being supported by the current set of PPR policies recommending change where necessary
• Maintaining a comprehensive database of PPRs and associated activities utilizing the COO ENGAGE system (database).
• Performing other tasks as applicable to strengthen the horizontal integration between BAs.
•Connect Business Area programs to the 1LMX Program Management Value Stream Product Owners for Digital Assist, Order to Cash, and Plan to Perform to accelerate adoption of 1LMX processes
• This position can be based out of LM Colorado Locations.
Basic Qualifications:
• SCI Clearance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a particular focus on executive-level communications
• Demonstrated Senior Manager Level success in program management roles on multiple programs and on multiple elements of the lifecycle
• History of helping struggling programs and providing paths to success
• Strong background in the analysis of program health metrics
• Strong familiarity with Lockheed Martin Command Media structure
• Ability to travel on a frequent basis, both domestically and internationally at approximately 50/60%
Desired Skills:
• Prior experience in independent risk reviews (INAR, BR, PAR) from both a proposal/program perspective as well as a review panel member perspective
• Demonstrated ability to quickly come up to speed on different technologies employed on proposals and programs across the Corporation to enable full participation in reviews
• Willingness to work in a virtual environment
• Experience in multiple BAs within Lockheed Martin
• Familiarity with Enterprise Operations (EO) roles, responsibilities, and capabilities
