The Business Systems Analyst – Privacy role contributes to REI’s success by helping mature REI’s Privacy Program to meet current and pending privacy regulations. This position serves as a liaison between the business and the Privacy Operations team to ensure business needs and privacy compliance requirements are understood, valued, prioritized and communicated for small and large projects or enhancements. The Business Systems Analyst – Privacy will be required to work with cross-functional stakeholders to represent the awareness and effectiveness of the Privacy Program. This role requires flexibility to adapt and to assist on various privacy initiatives, including Data Subject Requests, Privacy Impact Assessments, Privacy Awareness trainings, and other ad-hoc projects. The Business Systems Analyst – Privacy models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.
In this role you will :
- Actively participates and collaborates with others to drive privacy initiatives on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals.
- Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI.
- Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems to support privacy initiatives (e.g. Data Subject Request, Privacy Reviews, etc.)
- Consolidates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound decisions.
- Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
- Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work.

Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Management or related field, or equivalent training and experience.
- IAPP CIPP certification preferred
Requirements
- 1+ year direct work experience as a Business Analyst on small projects or enhancements.
- Previous experience in multi-channel retail environment. Preferably working on Privacy or Security teams.
- Understanding of both business and systems processes and an ability to understand and explain issues from both a technical and a business functional point of view.
- Ability to contribute to compelling business cases which express business need, communicate proposed project benefits and demonstrate business impacts.
- Demonstrated oral & written communications, teaching, facilitation & negotiation, leadership & influencing skills.
- Ability to faciltate, identifiy, validate, document, prioritize and business requirements (use cases, data modeling, process modeling, context diagrams, systems diagrams, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict
- Ability to conceptualize and recommend solutions to business problems
- IT project management experience
- Ability to effectively coordinate project delivery with the project management office or equivalent organization (e.g. Privacy Operations)
- Ability to read and create business models (strategy, process, conceptual data, etc.).

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets. The pay for this role is: $55,000 to $110,000 per year
