Job Description


This position provides a tremendous opportunity for an individual to gain an overall understanding of the accounting for McDonald’s health and ancillary benefits including health insurance projections, insurance plan financial statements and 5500 filings, trial balance review, and monthly and quarterly reporting. This position has 2 direct reports, The responsibilities in this area include Board of Directors payments and deferred comp statements, discrimination testing, property insurance captive accounting and updates to the SARs for insurance plans. It will provide the individual the opportunity to practice their analytical skills, problem solving skills, communication skills and people skills. Furthermore it will provide the candidate with broad exposure to the Global Total Rewards team in HR, GBS Benefits Administration area and Legal.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approval of insurance payments
  • Perform quarterly trial balance review
  • Prepare insurance projections
  • Annual discrimination testing
  • Review of insurance financial statements and 5500 filings
  • Review of quarterly Board of Director deferred comp statements and all Directors payouts
  • Quarterly recording of activity of property insurance captive
  • Ensure the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of financial data
  • Ad hoc reporting for Global Total Rewards
  • Responsible for quarterly SOX reporting and compliance
  • Assist in preparing for and providing support to external auditors

Qualifications


Must be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) for COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination by start date.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ of accounting related experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Ability to multitask with tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Customer Service Orientation
  • Flexibility for a changing environment
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
