Job Description
PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:
Position is responsible for managing Clinique Travel Retail Worldwide retailer exclusives calendar development and set execution. In driving this important and fast-growing part of the business, this position will work closely with the VP/General Manager of the brand, Marketing Executive Director and Skincare marketing team. The position will drive the analysis of past brand and competitor performance, lead the core team in ideating key strategies and assortment for future calendar of retailer exclusives, and also be the brand point person supporting the development process.
In addition to trade marketing, this position will drive Makeup and Fragrance categories through ongoing analysis of business as well as 360° development across newness, basic business, in store execution, eventing, and non-saleable support to maximize sales and grow market share.
Both aspects of the role require strong project management and communications skills. The success of the position is closely tied to effective partnerships with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Travel Retail regional teams, Travel Retail Innovation Hub, global brand partners, supply chain, and others.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Trade Marketing – Retailer Exclusives
- Manage the development process for the core team to develop the right retailer exclusive strategy based on past performance, retailer landscape, business objectives and competitive review.
- Continually improve and drive a more efficient process of how retailer exclusives are created (from ideation through to development).
- Lead the day-to-day process of developing sets - including cost analysis, supply feasibility, creative development, support materials, and managing timelines.
- Work closely with Travel Retail marketing and Innovation Hub, global marketing and supply chain, and distribution center to ensure new sets are forecasted, received and shipping to plan.
Makeup & Fragrance Categories
- Work closely with Executive Director to develop the right Makeup and Fragrance strategy for the TR channel.
- Responsible for driving basic business and newness while ensuring relevance in travel corridors.
- Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis that result in key commercial insights and initiatives.
- Responsible for leading all aspects of new product launch activity including but not limited to forecasts, creative, merchandising, promotional and saleable elements in cooperation with the relevant support teams.
- Identify commercial, new product, and consumer opportunities to drive focus growth within Makeup and Fragrance categories.
- Responsible for the tracking of shipments of all new and limited life products from plant to Lachen (distribution center) (includes: saleable and non-saleable items).
- Responsible to coordinate and report the newness launch across three regions, APAC. EMA and AM to NY
- Manage master assortment and SKU activity with Regional Teams and Lachen.
- Track all seasonal merchandising documents and planograms, with Visual Merchandising. Managing communication of VM elements needed from VM per season.
- Responsible for the preparation of marketing presentations for sales meetings and retailer presentations including the coordination of all Marketing-related support materials (e.g., product, comps, lab samples, visual concepts, etc.).
- Manage day to day requests from regional and global teams. Acting as a key point person for TR WW. Communicate with each regional office (Miami, London & Singapore) on a daily basis to ensure their needs (creative, visual merchandising, programming, etc.) are met.
- Works on a variety of special projects as necessary.
QualificationsQualifications:
- Position requires 6+ year’s of experience in Marketing.
- College/University graduate (MBA Preferred)
- Passion for Skincare Beauty
- Prior knowledge of Asian, specifically Chinese, consumers not required, but helpful
- Fully capable of using MAC and PC software including Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Keynote. SAP knowledge is a plus.
- Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables and Vlookups), Advanced PowerPoint
- Proven background demonstrating significant skills in the following areas:
- Analytical skills
- Project management skills (demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment)
- Communication skills both written and oral
- Understanding the commercial aspect of the business
