Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

As an Associate within the Trading Documentation group, you will be responsible for negotiating various types of trading documentation related to global capital markets trading platforms while ensuring all agreements adhere to RBC Standing Orders and that appropriate approvals have been obtained for all deviations from RBC policy.

What will you do?

  • Negotiates various industry-standard and (with Law Group) non-standard master agreements
  • Negotiates and reviews regulation-driven documentation
  • Coordinates, in conjunction with Law Group, changes and updates to RBC master agreement templates
  • Ensures compliance with RBC Standing Orders for all trading documentation
  • Updates Trading Documentation systems to reflect status of negotiations and to capture information from completed agreements
  • Ensures appropriate internal systems are updated accordingly

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Proven master agreement negotiation experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Capital Markets products & the trading environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry-standard master agreements (ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, etc) and various counterparty types (FI’s, corporates, funds, etc)
  • Understanding of risk issues
  • Familiarity with facility agreements and/or facility-linked swap documentation Experience negotiating FBF and/or Deutsche Rahmenvertrag advantageous but not essential
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle significant and diverse workload
  • Partnership mentality with respect to rest of RBC enterprise including other functions.
  • Adaptable and committed to continuous learning
  • Legal qualifications
