Payments Product & Platform Engineering is focused on processing diverse types of digital payment transactions and facilitating money movement between registered entities and financial institutions worldwide in a timely and reliable manner. A successful candidate for this role is someone who is exceptional at leading medium to large programs and have a well-rounded technical background in Financial Services or Payments Processing.

As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide regular communication with Senior management on status, risks and release management. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop high-level design documentation, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role. Cross-team coordination, agile project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

The candidate should have demonstrated experience with high-level solutioning preferably in the Payments Processing space creating designs in line with the long-term architecture for strategic and large programs that benefit our customers and the company. You will be need to understand and deep dive into details and be able to solution new features, capabilities, architectures, scale, performance, availability and durability for the Payments platforms.

As the role involves regular communication with senior stakeholders on roadmap prioritization and solution implementation strategy, you must be comfortable working with large projects involving multiple cross-functional teams. Ability to cultivate relationships and earn trust with teams both inside and outside of the Payments Organization is an essential attribute.

In a nutshell, having strong Technical design, executive presentation and stakeholder management skills are key success factors for this role. You are the Point of Contact to Business by providing Engineering leadership (representing Payments Processing organization), mitigate solutions risks, make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints to deliver end to end product solution for the company.

Responsibilities

• Interact with product managers and engineering leaders to define product KPIs, engineering processes and quality metrics.
• Participate in the roadmap prioritization & support product managers to develop new products and features.
• Working with external payments ecosystem partners/ third-parties and evaluation of partner choices
• Plan and manage multiple parallel projects involving Payments
• Be the glue that is able to understand, plan, and manage the cross-team interdependencies for complex systems
• Uncover technical dependencies based on product requirements.
• Design and implement elegant and secure solutions adhering to the principles and guidelines of Payments system.
• Collaborate with cross functional Architects to create and document application architectures that support extensibility and re-use, while actively seeking opportunities to leverage industry standard solutions
• Drive design/architectural direction and socialize with the groups within Payments and other teams.
• Focus on non- functional requirements of the proposed solution like latency, capacity, availability, scalability.
• Develop prototypes to demonstrate the merits of a proposed solution
• Need to think through multiple design solution options and evaluate pros/cons to pick one based on rationale.
• Realign teams to keep harmony between different implementations and unblock Engineering Teams, if required
• Provide Payment Engineering progress to n-In-A-Box
• Strong collaboration: work across the company to drive adoption of technical standards, design principles and architecture methodologies
• Maintain a broad knowledge of modern technology tools, trends and industry best practices, and apply that knowledge to architectural designs
• Solid experience and track record of successful system implementations utilizing multiple project management methodologies, tools and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
• 5+ years of technical program management experience
• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• Record of inventive and innovative problem solving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• History of effective and respected technical leadership within a talented and highly skilled engineering organization
• A good understanding of Infrastructure, Operations & Data Centre architecture and preferably design experience with the same.
• Programming Experience with Java (C++ would be an advantage)
• Experience designing large scale Financial Applications, Payments processing solutions including APIs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
