Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Operations Manager to join our Insurance Operations team.

About the role

This role is accountable and responsible for implementing the strategy of Oscar's claims production optimization team. This includes managing strategic programs and tracking our vitals, metrics, +Oscar engagements, and collaborations across the company.

You will report to the Associate Director, Insurance Operations. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Note, this list of states is subject to change. #LI-Remote

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of all our partners and the markets they operate in and become the go-to-individual at the company for strategic programs related to production Operations
  • Manage projects that support achievement of the program's strategy including identifying and uncovering new opportunities across Operations
  • Manage the vitals planning process for Operations including reporting on progress, ensuring collaboration and identifying and mitigating areas of risk
  • Lead by guiding decisions and implementation on an ongoing basis
  • Communicate with Oscar business leads and external partners to lead discussions and ensure deliverables are completed on time and remove roadblocks
  • Grow direct reports, ensuring that colleagues are supported in professional development
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or 4+ years of commensurate experience
  • 5+ years of work experience in health insurance, consulting, healthcare, Or operations
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing a team
  • Experience in program management or design or implementation
  • Experience improving processes and workflows including workflow design and working with product/engineering teams to design tooling
  • Experience developing project plans coordinating with all partners
  • Experience designing and improving workflows and standing up accompanying operating and technical procedures

Bonus Points

  • Lean / Six Sigma experience
  • Experience using data software such as Excel, SQL or Python
  • Consulting or similar experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced tech or start-up environment where leaders are required to operate lean teams and zoom in and out to succeed
  • Experience in a client-facing/vendor management role
