About the Role:

Credible is looking for a talented Engineering Manager to join us and lead our application platform team. Credible’s application platform team is tasked with building best-in-class tooling and frameworks to help our development teams move quickly and succeed without needing to reinvent the wheel. As part of our engineering architecture group, the app platform team works closely with our devops/infrastructure team and interfaces frequently with various development teams.

This is an opportunity for you to own one of the engineering teams at Credible, working with the team to own key aspects of our app platform and deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of highly talented engineers in the US and overseas
• Collaborate with devops/infrastructure and development teams to design+build+maintain the right frameworks and tooling to accelerate development
• Actively contribute to the adoption of strong software architecture, development best practices, and new technologies
• Ensure smooth execution and high-quality delivery for technical projects
• Ensure the right trade-offs are made between speed, features, & technical debt
• Communicate with & manage expectations of all stakeholders - principle of ‘no surprises’
• Maintain high engagement & retention on the team
• Mentor & coach engineers on our team
• Encourage & support the career development of the team
• Hire new engineers

Education and Experience:

• 8+ years of working experience with software engineering
• 3+ years of management experience
• Degree in computer science or related fields
• Exceptional organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
• Strong software design and architecture skills
• Experience architecting abstract software solutions, especially in a microservice environment
• Incredible problem-solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentorship to the team
• Ability to make effective decisions quickly
• Experience with modern CI/CD best practices
• Experience with single-page web applications (e.g., React.js, Angular.js)
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar technologies (e.g., Django)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with financial products or services
• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes
