Job Description

We’re building an outstanding product marketing organization to help shape and scale Discord to diverse communities around the world. As a member of the Consumer Product Marketing team, you will get to be an advocate for all our users and have a key voice in how our Safety product and narrative is built and communicated out to the world. This is a crucial hire, as it is the first Group PMM role for the Safety team. The Group Product Marketing Manager will lead a team around our product marketing strategy during one of the most exciting times in our business. Discord is a platform built on a strong foundation of user trust and safety. You’ll work on roadmaps that enforce our guidelines, and mitigate bad experiences for our users. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Eng, Legal, Policy, and CX to help scale Discord’s Safety products, policies, and own the overall Safety narrative related to platform safety, and data privacy. You will be reporting directly to the Director of Product Marketing, Consumer.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partner with the product team to influence product and business strategy with a view of customer needs and market opportunities
- Develop unified narratives for global campaigns, including ownership over positioning, and external agency management
- Align strategy and operationalize process to drive fully integrated go-to-market campaigns across product, brand, and partnership teams
- Attract, manage and develop a team of talented product marketers to scale
- Drive ongoing measurement and analysis of awareness, adoption, and sentiment of campaigns in partnership with Data Science
- Engage and cultivate relationships with Discord users to deeply understand their needs
What you should have:
- Excited to work in a high-growth environment and culture
- 9+ years of experience launching and scaling consumer tech products globally
- 5+ years of experience with safety/integrity, privacy, and policy issues at a tech company focused on social products or communication platforms
- 4+ years of experience hiring and managing product marketers
- Expertise in using qualitative and quantitative data to identify marketing opportunities and measure the success of marketing programs in driving traditional brand metrics and core business results.
- Ability to guide cross-functional teams towards decisions and execution
