Deliveroo HOP

Deliveroo HOP launched in September 2021 and is Deliveroo’s speedy grocery delivery service. Our mission is to deliver groceries to customers around the world in as little as 10 minutes - from the weekly shop, to a last minute dinner party or a late night snack. Working with trusted grocers, Deliveroo HOP promises to bring customers the very best products at lightning speed.

The team behind Deliveroo HOP are building a network of stores across London, the UK and other markets. Each delivery store is staffed with a team who have been specially trained to manage the operations efficiently as well as pick and pack orders in record time.

The role
Operations are the heart of what we do. We are looking for a talented energetic Project Manager who will contribute to the launch of new Deliveroo Hop stores around Italy. Your goal will be to support the launch of new stores and ensure operations run smoothly from day 1. You will be responsible for meeting construction deadlines and making sure every store is on track for opening, as per the expansion pipeline.
This role requires an ability to be resourceful, an entrepreneurial spirit, a positive mindset and a passion for problem solving. Success in this role will require the development of effective working relationships with senior leaders across operations, category, strategy & property.
We're looking for a Project Manager who's equally organised and comfortable to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. You will report into the Italian Head of Expansion and Strategy.
This role is initially fixed-term for 12 months, with the option to go permanent after that.
What you’ll be doing
Expansion:

  • Coordinating all technical work streams needed for launch (construction team timeline review, coordination between construction and store operations, unique point of contact for all construction work streams)
  • Contributing to improve a well defined strategic plan for all new delivery site openings
  • Collaborating with the UK based construction team and Italian contractors on field to ensure all our Italian sites are built according to planned time schedules
  • Supporting new strategic initiatives through data analysis and occasional presentations to the wider business

Real Estate:

  • Conducting site visits for new locations around Italy
  • Communicating with local authorities for authorizations and permits (no legal background needed)
  • Liaising with HQ to ensure all the needed launch steps are followed
  • Maintaining a relationship with landlords
  • Supporting administrative tasks such as regular reporting to HQ

Maintenance:

  • Sourcing suppliers within Italian territory for the facilities and maintenance of the sites
  • Managing relations with electricity, gas, security, disposal providers
  • Actively sourcing supplies and equipment needed for each site

Requirements
The role requires project and team management skills and a can-do attitude. We are looking for someone with:
Fluency in English and Italian
Great prioritisation skills
Experience working cross-functionally to deliver projects in a timely manner
Self starter/entrepreneurial mindset
A hands on mentality and approach to problem solving and execution
1-2 years of Project Management experience are desirable but not essential
