The Role You’ll Play:

The Operations Manager, Events supports all of our customer-facing community teams in producing frequent, high-quality virtual events. This individual manages the master program calendar and ensures key dates, milestones and deadlines are being met. They identify risks and help mitigate them with a willingness and ability to pitch in wherever needed.

This role is also the lead for all Virtual Event production, leveraging our event platform (Webex Events, formerly Socio) to show run and call live events, build out communities in the platform, build virtual sponsor booths, manage reporting and other administrative activities. We do not currently host live events, but expect to do so in the future. At that time, the Operations Manager would oversee production for live events (not to exceed 20% of their time).

About the Community & Ecosystem Team:

The CB Insights Community & Ecosystem team develops innovative ways to connect buyers and sellers so they can share knowledge, consummate deals, and advance their careers and companies. Our clients span Fortune 1000 executives to technology company founders to venture capitalists to investment bankers and more. Your Main Tasks:

• Producing virtual events including show running and calling for virtual events, conducting speaker rehearsals, writing run of show scripts, and troubleshooting routine technical difficulties.
• Managing events and communities in the event platform (Webex events, formerly Socio) including creating new registration pages, building new community portals, populating virtual sponsor booths, managing reporting and other administrative activities. Ensures information is complete and accurate.
• Develop expertise on Webex Events capabilities, helping the team maximize features to create value for community members, enhance events and increase engagement.
• Process/Project Management including m anaging master program calendar to ensure key dates, milestones and deadlines are met, identifying risks to timely or quality production, escalating concerns to team leaders and collaborating to resolve issues.
• Reporting on key performance metrics such as recruiting, attendee experience, connections made, etc.
• Supporting event sponsors including building out sponsor presence on the portal, ensuring sponsor deadlines are met, registering sponsor speakers and attendees, and delivering materials owed to sponsors post-event.
• Once live events are added, overseeing all operational aspects of live event production such as sourcing venues, managing venue relationships, and managing the on site experience, including F&B, branding and attendee experience.

What you bring to the table:

• BA/BS required plus 3-5 years experience in event production with a focus on process management, project management and virtual event technology.
• Outstanding organization, planning, project management, and prioritization skills; able to manage workflow for multiple events with overlapping timelines.
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to demonstrate executive presence on the phone, video, and in person.
• Entrepreneurial mindset including high tolerance for ambiguity, experimentation and change; experience working with startups a plus.
• High EQ, with demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Excellent computer skills and hands on experience with Google suite/MS office (particularly Google Sheets/Excel).
