Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC Investor & Treasury Services Malaysia is a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones. The country employs a Global Operating Model to maximize efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability.

In Securities Lending, you will be providing support to the International Securities Lending trading desks, and the development and management of relationships with borrowers and several internal departments.

This role will support Luxembourg region with working hours between 3:00PM an 12:00AM or 4:00PM and 1:00AM.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for Operational elements of the Securities Lending business, managing client (internal and external) expectations and striving to provide exceptional client service at all times.
  • Engaged in Securities Lending operational activity across multiple markets to ensure the highest levels of performance are achieved.
  • Provision of support to the International Securities Finance business, ensuring that trade settlement, corporate action, income collection and all associated reconciliation issues are prioritised according to associated levels of market/financial risk.
  • Maintenance of relationships with the sub-custodian network, borrowing brokers and the Settlement/Income team.
  • Ensure that the department meets all audit and compliance requirements, applying a strong understanding of UK regulation (CASS) and applying the appropriate rules and guidance to all activity within the team.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Tertiary education in Finance and Banking.
  • Fluent in using Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail coupled with good problem solving skills; analytical and numeric reasoning skills.
  • Proven flexibility in accommodating different personalities, professional work styles and changing work priorities.
  • As a guideline to ensure a reasonable time is spent in a role, you are expected to have at least 12 months of service in your current role for any lateral move.

Job Summary

Securities Lending involves trade activity across 22 international markets and manages potential impact to RBC Investor & Treasury Services custody clients (both internal and external). Provision of support to the International Securities Lending trading desks, and the development and management of relationships with borrowers and several internal departments.
The recovery and reconciliation of Manufactured Dividends is a high profile function within the organization, with high value claims being issued across markets, both internal departments and the SL borrower community expect the highest levels of performance, communication and responsiveness from those involved in this function.
