The Director, Product Marketing will lead, cultivate, and inspire, a best-in-class marketing team which develops and implements a strategic product program with a strong focus on driving new customer acquisition as well as deepening our relationships with our existing consumers. They will be responsible for partnering with the VP of North America Marketing to lead product strategy, NPL delivery and Visual Merchandizing for all Bobbi Brown categories – skincare and makeup. They will be responsible for building brand desirability while driving profit, revenue and volume including setting business objectives, category planning, and Visual Merchandising. They will also support the strategy and development of the North America Retail marketing programs to ensure Retail programs align with National commercial priorities.
This Director role requires skills sets such as leading a team of internal direct reports and external partners, identifying consumer insights and key business issues, formulating brand strategies, forecasts and planning and executing brand plans to ensure increased market share and diversified consumer engagement across North America. The ideal candidate is analytical, strategic, creative, driven, organized, able to multi-task, and highly collaborative.
KEY RESPONIBILITIES:
Marketing Strategy 30%
• Create, develop 3 year Product Strategy for Bobbi Brown inclusive of category targets, NPD ranking aspirations, customer growth, product innovation and Samples for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics NA.
• Lead Situation Assessment in order to identify and prioritize brand-building opportunities by utilizing data-driven insights (e.g., NPD, internal sales reports, consumer research reports, competitive analysis, etc.).
• Leverage consumer driven insights to assess attractive growth opportunities that are currently untapped by the brand.
• Collaborate with global innovation team to build long term innovation pipeline.
• Execute marketing plans including, promotions, new product launches, visual merchandising, sampling and in-store activation.
Product Marketing & Budget Management 30%
• Partner with Vice President of Marketing on 3 year category planning to ensure Bobbi Brown is growing volume and market share.
• Provide top-sided new launch forecast recommendations for the product pipeline calendar
• Determine launch cadence, early leads, and exclusives to ensure side-by-sides are balanced and anniversary
• Partner with Account Management team to determine product exclusives and early leads
• Lead National Sampling strategy and partnering with Trade Marketing to flawlessly execute.
• Lead all NPL executions for Makeup and Skincare newness and account exclusives by season inclusive of consumer strategies, product, and visual merchandising.
• Spearhead all pricing increases including competitive benchmarking
• Spearhead communication with Global Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Education, Demand Planning, Account Management and other cross-functional groups in the planning and execution of marketing programs.
• Oversee NA Promotional and Sample budgets – including collateral, visual merchandizing, samples, customer loyalty sets and GWPs.
• Lead Promotional budget process for North America that includes online, offline and threshold spend for hero products
Visual Merchandising 30%
• Develop national VM strategy and executional plan including accurate assortment and product priorities, overhauls, new door roll-outs, Flagship updates, cash wraps, end caps, events, etc. when applicable
• Partner with Executive Director Consumer Engagement to bring to life brand message and product stories across all Visual Merchandising to ensure seamless omnichannel messaging to the consumer.
• Oversee team of direct reports to generate creative briefs detailing regional needs of new merchandising units, displays, artwork, product comps, updates, and any other detailed information for vendors for successful planning and set up
• Oversee team of direct reports to drive, communicate and track project milestones and deadlines to inter-department stakeholders for all regional projects
• Lead development of Visual Merchandising guidelines for NA and communicate with Field Sales team for smooth execution and troubleshoot any in-store merchandising issues
• Manage regional budget, reconcile retailer chargeback, and ensure responsible financial decisions are met and aligned with the budget
• Proofread all graphics to establish accuracy in copy and pricing
• Continually enhance and make recommendations for easy navigation at POS
Team Development 10%
• Lead and manage with excellence the North American Product Marketing team of 4 that includes 2 Managers, 1 Assistant Manager and 1 Coordinator.
• Partner with a cross-functional team of 20+ team members spanning Global Marketing, Global and Regional Visual Merchandizing, Trade Marketing, Account Management, Education and artistry to coordinate cohesive product marketing plans and programs
• Develop and continually coach individuals for maximum potential, enabling their personal and professional growth
• 7+ years of relevant experience in addition to a college and/or graduate degree
• Seasoned & agile marketing leader who demonstrates curiosity, makes bold decisions & recommendations, tracks external trends, and understands the upstream and downstream impact of their work.
• Interest and passion for North America marketing including Product, Visual Merchandising, and Competitive landscape in color/promo categories
• Highly organized & pro-active self-starter with a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and take complete ownership of projects.
• Adept & detail-oriented project manager who ensures that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner; removes barriers to move faster.
• Agile, resilient and adaptable to change; experiments and adapts to win; questions the status quo
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead cross-functionally and build relationships internally and externally
• Strong analytical skills combined with a high level of creativity and strategic vision
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to independently set priorities and motivate others
• Interest and passion for North America marketing including Product, National Media, Influencer Marketing, PR, Retail Marketing, and Competitive landscape
• Marketing experience within Prestige/Luxury Fragrance industry a plus
