The Role: This person will manage day-to-day marketing programs and activities for one of our most unique product lines, the biochemistry analyzers manufactured by YSI. They will drive the organization’s short and long-term business objectives for these products, comply with regulations and standards, and protect the organization’s public reputation, especially as it relates to product quality and customer support.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement marketing plans for the organization's products/services in order to meet established sales or market share targets. Activities may include: conducting market research, overseeing product development and design; setting prices; launching new products; overseeing advertising campaigns; and monitoring sales performance
- Contribute to business planning at the executive level to develop an overall marketing strategy that is consistent with the organization's overall mission, vision, and long-term objectives.
- Define advertising objectives, recommend choice of media, and allocate internal and external resources so that advertising and promotion campaigns are effective, economical, and appropriate for their intended audience.
- Select, and manage ongoing relationships with, external vendors and agencies (for example printers, event organizers, graphic designers, advertising agencies, media outlets).
- Master the technology to the point of being able to train sales representatives in the main features and value propositions, and to help customers with initial setup and operation.
- Define the technical outlook and product roadmaps for the product line, including building the business case for prioritizing new product development.
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to identify market opportunities; adjust marketing strategy and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions.
- Liaise with other functional and operational area managers (particularly in sales, customer service, production, research and development) to ensure that marketing strategies and activities are integrated with other parts of the business and align with the overall corporate objectives.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field (e.g., biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology biological engineering).
- Preference for experience in a pharmaceutical, bioprocessing, food and beverage, or other type of industrial laboratory environment.
- Preference for some work experience in a non-academic, business environment.
- Preference for understanding of CFR 21 and understanding of FDA-regulated projects, products, or processes.
- Able to travel up to 25% during peak times, to attend customer trainings, conferences, sales meetings, etc.
- International travel 1-2 times per year (must have U.S. Passport).

- Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours
- Hybrid work is an option, with at least 20 hours/week on site in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
